Memorial Day Weekend Part 1: Farm Fun

Saturday morning, we headed out to the country for some farm fun! It was a little over a 20 minute drive, and when we got there we were the ONLY people there! I was so happy because that meant we'd have all the animals to ourselves! This place was so neat, as soon as we got out of our cars we saw roosters, ducks and chickens running free all around us....every time I turned around there was a freakin rooster crowing at my feet.....and they don't just crow at the crack of dawn....it is ALL DAY LONG that they make that annoying noise. First the tour guide took us to hold baby chicks and ducks.

Macina wasn't too sure about the chicks, it kept flapping its wings on her!

So mommy held the duck next to her so she could pet him, isn't it so cute? Then we went to play with the bunnies!

Now on to the llamas. There were three really nice llamas and we got to feed them bread, Macina really liked this:
(we also fed bread to billy goats, donkeys, cows, deer, pigs....)

Now the baby goats were a different story. I thought she would love this part since she loves feeding bottles to her baby dolls and just about anything else that she thinks should drink from a bottle. It started off okay but once the ten baby goats figured out it was feeding time they started "baa-ing." Not a cute little baa, but a really loud obnoxious baa that totally freaked Macina out. The bottle to goat ratio was way off so the goats went a little crazy: they literally came out through the little squares of that fence!

Daddy had to finish feeding the baby goat all alone, what a good sport!

Male Peacock!

Blizzard the Reindeer:

Talking to her little friend, the farm owners' granddaughters loved Macina:

Me, being forced to participate in the cow milking.

Our Farmer Family:

At the end they took us for a barrel-train ride. The guy pulled us all around the farm. Macina loved this and cried More! when the ride was over, but I was happy to be done-I felt like a giant crammed in that darn barrel and it was so bumpy!

Those are just a few of the pictures we got and we saw a lot more animals. It was so much fun except the bottom of my shoes were full of crap when we left. That's farm life! (that's what they kept saying to me anyway)

I have three video clips from the farm too that I will post later!

I love the milking of the cow... you are braver than me. The pictures are great as usual. Lots of love.
